The Tuckamore Festival takes place annually on Canada's eastern most shores in historic St. John's, Newfoundland. It offers promising young chamber music performers an intimate educative experience in which to immerse themselves in chamber music and solo repertoire. Up to 25 talented string players and pianists will be chosen for this intensive two-week festival.

Applicants should be 16 years of age or older at the time of application. Acceptance to the Tuckamore Festival is based upon an evaluation of audition tape as well as the balance of openings for each instrument. Age is taken into consideration in the evaluation of audition tapes. Prior to commencement of the Festival, ensembles are formed from successful applicants according to compatibility with respect to age and level as assessed by the artistic directors. During the two-week Festival, ensembles will rehearse and perform together as part of the intensive music-making experience for which the Tuckamore Festival is becoming renowned. Students also get to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of Newfoundland, with opportunities to experience the natural and cultural heritage that is unique to this region of Canada. There are opportunities for recreation, socializing, and relaxation, as well.
