Fitzwilliam String Quartet (FSQ)
Founded in 1968 at Cambridge University, the Fitzwilliam String Quartet first received world-wide acclaim for its outstanding recording of the complete Shostakovich Quartets. Today, over forty years later, the Fitzwilliam continues to tour throughout Europe, South Africa and North America and distinguishes itself as one of the only quartets performing on both early and modern instruments. In addition to four new CD releases this season, the quartet will hold a residency at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania and run a chamber music course in Corciano, Italy.
